Grammar Practice - Reported Speech

Dear Students,
Find some practice exercises for the recently learned grammatical stucture, the Reported Speech.
Complete the sentences using reported speech.
Example:  ‘Do you want to go?’ He asked me if / whether I wanted to go.
1   ‘Don’t walk on the grass!’
The man told us ________ walk on the grass.
2   ‘We may not have it in stock.’
The shop assistant said they ________ have it in stock.
3   ‘I’ll give you a lift.’
He said he ________ give me a lift.
4   ‘What are your names?’
They asked us what our names ________.
5   ‘I must be back at 3 p.m.’
He said he ________ be back at 3 p.m.
6   ‘Are you listening?’
The teacher asked us ________ we were listening.
7   ‘I’ve left my homework at home.’
She said she ________ her homework at home.

For the answers mark the following betwwen the two slashes.
/1   ‘Don’t walk on the grass!’
The man told us not to walk on the grass.
2   ‘We may not have it in stock.’
The shop assistant said they might not have it in stock.
3   ‘I’ll give you a lift.’
He said he would give me a lift.
4   ‘What are your names?’
They asked us what our names were..
5   ‘I must be back at 3 p.m.’
He said hehad to be back at 3 p.m.
6   ‘Are you listening?’
The teacher asked us if/whether we were listening.
7   ‘I’ve left my homework at home.’
She said she had left her homework at home. /
